If you're looking for ways to implement more selfcare into your day to day routine, Yoga may be a GREAT way to start building your new lifestyle habit.
Since, September is National Yoga Month--if you're in the mood to celebrate here are 5 simple things you can do for your self-care routine and to celebrate National Yoga Month.
Write it out/Plan it Out:
Journaling can be a great way to self-care and a way to help calm the mind. Write out what your yoga goal is for the month (remember to keep it simple). Plan out when you'd like to practice your yoga sessions for the week, and if you want to take your planning up a notch, include three bullet points to go along with your daily/weekly schedule. Planning out what you will focus on that day.
Challenge Yourself
Start small but gradually work to implement different styles of yoga into your selfcare routine. Step outside of your comfort zone and routine by exploring other styles of yoga--such as hot yoga, aerial yoga, or acro-yoga. Keep in mind there are many different types out there, pick one style that is new to you and go from there.
Take Your Yoga Session Outdoors
Take your yoga session outdoors, nature offers some tranquility and peace which can be great for your yoga practice. Remember the beauty of yoga is you're able to do it anywhere so remember not to limit yourself to practicing in home only. Find a near by park and connect with nature.
Find a Yoga Studio
Practicing at home yoga is GREAT, and I'm sure the peace and quiet is perfect because you've cultivated your own area to practice in. But try changing things up a bit and go to a studio instead. Practicing yoga in a group setting may be something you really enjoy. So go online and look up a local studio you'd like to visit and see how you like it. You don't have to commit to a membership that day, test it out a few times and see if you've learned something from being in the group setting.
Surround Yourself around Yogis
Connecting with your fellow yogis could be the boost you need to stay committed on your new journey. Yogis can become more than just acquaintances that you see in your yoga class. Building a bond/relationship can be very supportive, inspiring, and motivating. This could serve as a good balance to help when you have questions outside of class.
We hope that you found this article helpful and a great kick starter to helping you create your own personal yoga practice. After, your yoga sessions take some of that goodness it brings into your life and spread it around the world.
